TWO BROTHERS SOUGHT IN CONNECTION WITH A SHOOTING IN EASTERN NEW ORLEANS

NEW ORLEANS – The NOPD is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 24-year-old Blake Monroe and 25-year-old Larry Monroe, who are wanted in connection with the non-fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man. The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, on the I-10 West Service Road just before Morrison Road.

Around 3:40 a.m., the victim was travelling in a blue Ford sedan on the Service Road, when the pair drove up and opened fire on the victim’s car. The victim immediately put his vehicle in reverse and fled down nearby Lamb Road. The brothers fled the area in an unknown direction shortly afterwards. The victim sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg. There were four young children inside of the vehicle who were not injured during the shooting.

The brothers were both positively identified as the suspects in this shooting through citizen participation.
