NOPD VOWS Unit Arrest Suspects in Aggravated Battery by

Shooting & Armed Robbery

NEW ORLEANS – Members of the NOPD’s Violent Offenders Warrant Squad today arrested two individuals for an aggravated battery by shooting incident and armed robbery incident with a firearm.

Officers arrested Robert Boykins (DOB: 05/26/62) for an aggravated battery by shooting incident that occurred at the intersection of St. Louis and North Dupre Street on May 30, 2018. Boykins surrendered to the VOWS Unit with his attorney present in the 1400 block of North Broad Street.

Officers arrested a 16-year-old male juvenile (DOB: 01/12/02) for an armed robbery incident that occurred in the 13600 block of North Nemours Street. The incident happened on May 5, 2018. At around 8 p.m., the victim was approached by three male subjects. One of the male suspects asked the victim if he could use his cell phone. As the victim went to reach for his cell phone, the suspect produced a semi-automatic gun from his waistband.
