NOPD Searching for Subject in First District Auto Burglary

NEW ORLEANS – The NOPD is searching for a subject in a First District auto burglary.

The incident occurred on January 25, 2018 around 1 a.m. in the 1300 block of North Galvez Street.

The above subject was captured on video approaching a recreational vehicle on his bike.

The subject laid the bike down and rummaged through the victim’s property which was stored outside next to the residence.

The subject then can be seen breaking the locking mechanism of the bed topper for the victim’s pickup truck and searching for any property.

Shortly after, the subject approached the camper and forced open the access door to the storage area.

The subject can be seen removing the dry/wet vacuum from inside and walked around to the 2200 block of Barracks Street out of view of the cameras.

A few moments later, he returned, got on his bicycle and flees the area.

The subject is described as an unknown black male, wearing a dark colored jacket with a hooded sweatshirt underneath, dark colored pants, and white tennis shoes. He was seen on a bicycle with a white frame and white wall wheels.
