|NOPD INVESTIGATING MURDER ON SAINT CLAUDE AVENUE
NEW ORLEANS— The NOPD is investigating the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old man. The incident occurred last night in the 5100 block of Saint Claude Avenue.
Around 10:00 p.m., NOPD Fifth District officers responded to a call of a man down on the sidewalk. When officers arrived, they found the unresponsive victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. Shortly after, EMS arrived and attempted to resuscitate the victim but all attempts were unsuccessful. The victim died on the scene.
The investigation is on-going and detectives are investigating to determine a motive and suspect(s) in the incident.
The Coroner’s office will release the identity of the victim once proper notifications of family members are made.
