NOPD Finds Man Shot To Death in the Sixth District

NEW ORLEANS – The NOPD is investigating a homicide that claimed the life of an adult male Friday night.

Sixth District officers were flagged down around 7:19 p.m. in the 2400 block of South Derbigny Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine an official cause of death and release the victim’s name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
