|SUSPECTS WANTED FOR CARJACKING ON BARRACKS STREET
NEW ORLEANS – The NOPD is asking for the public’s assistance in locating and identifying two suspects who are wanted for a Carjacking. The incident took place May 18, 2015, in the 700 block of Barracks Street.
At approximately 3:50 a.m., the victim entered his vehicle, started it, and before he could close the door, an armed gunman approached him. The gunman pointed a black semiautomatic firearm at the victim’s head and demanded his wallet. The victim advised the suspect that his wallet was hooked to his keys.
The gunman pulled the victim from the vehicle and threw him to the ground. The gunman and a second suspect began kicking and punching the victim.
The gunman patted on the victim’s pants and stole his cell phone, wallet, car keys and entered the driver’s side of the victim’s vehicle. The second suspect entered the passenger side of the vehicle at which time the suspects drove off in the victim’s vehicle.
The armed suspect was described as a male, approximately 6’1”tall with a thin build and about 25 to 35 years of age. He was wearing a black T-shirt with white writing, dark baggy fit pants, and dark shoes.
The second suspect was described as a black male wearing all dark clothing.
The vehicle stolen in this incident was a 2009 grey Hyundai Sonata with a La. license plate of VJZ428. The vehicle had no side mirrors and the left tail light has red tape on it. The vehicle has not been located.
