|NOPD ARRESTS WOMAN FOR PICKPOCKETING ON BOURBON STREET
NEW ORLEANS – The NOPD has arrested 32-year-old Tiffany Bonney in connection with a pickpocketing that occurred yesterday in the 400 block of Bourbon Street.
Around 7:00 p.m., a 33-year-old man was walking in the area when Bonney approached him asking for a sexual favor. The victim said, after a brief conversation, Bonney walked off. Moments later, the victim realized that his wallet was missing from his back pocket. The victim said he could remember Bonney feeling on his pants.
During the course of the investigation, detectives observed Bonney walking in the area. Detectives immediately detained her for questioning after they realized she matched the description of the pickpocket suspect. The victim arrived at the Eighth District Police Station and positively identified Bonney as the suspect.
Later in the investigation, detectives learned Bonney made a purchase using the victim’s credit card at a local store.
Based on the facts and circumstances surrounding the investigation, Bonney was booked into Central Lock-Up and charged with Pickpocket and Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card.
Bonney has been arrested multiple times in connection with prostitution incidents in the French Quarter.
Eighth District Officers are in charge of the investigation.
