Firearm, Items Taken in Auto Burglary on Toulouse Street

NEW ORLEANS – Officers in the First District are investigating an auto burglary that occurred in the 3100 block of Toulouse Street on Tuesday (June 12) where a gun was taken from the vehicle.

At about 3 a.m., the victim, who is an Orleans Parish Sheriff’s deputy, told police he parked his vehicle in the driveway of his residence after leaving a detail. The victim then returned to his vehicle later that morning at about 5:15 a.m. When he opened the passenger-side door, he observed the middle console open and his commission wallet lying on the passenger-side seat.

At that time, he discovered his duty weapon (Glock model 17), uniform, two magazines, and two Michael Kors gold wrist watches missing from his vehicle.
