NEW ORLEANS – The NOPD VOWS Unit today (May 31, 2018) arrested Jeremy Green, (B/M, 09/03/1987), for second-degree battery for an incident that occurred on May 20, 2018 in the 2500 block of Acacia Street.

Green is accused of getting into an argument with his girlfriend that escalated into a physical confrontation.

Green was wanted by Third District Officer Emilio Aleman. He was located today at an address in the 7400 block of Strathmore Street.

Green was also arrested on a criminal court capias issued from Orleans Parish.

NEW ORLEANS – The NOPD is searching for a subject wanted in connection with a Seventh District shoplifting incident.

The incident occurred May 3, 2018 around 1 p.m. in the 10600 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

The wanted subjects are accused of stealing stole approximately $79 worth of Gain detergent. Both subjects were seen fleeing the location in a Green four-door Toyota vehicle.

NOPD VOWS Unit Arrest Suspect in Aggravated Battery by Cutting Incident

NEW ORLEANS – The NOPD VOWS Unit arrested Jacquelyn Ward (DOB: 11-23-1971) in connection with an aggravated battery by cutting incident that occurred on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, in the 1100 block of South Carrollton Avenue.

The victim was reportedly attacked by Ward after seeing him in a vehicle with another female. The subject approached the victim’s vehicle, slashed his tires and then cut him with the knife.

Ward was wanted by Second District Detective Matthew Connolly. She was located today (May 30) in the 2100 block of Benefit Street. The subject was transported to Central Lockup where she was booked accordingly.

Suspect Arrested for Attempted Murder, Aggravated Battery by

Shooting, Assault & Criminal Damage to Property

NEW ORLEANS – With assistance from the NOPD Violent Offenders Warrant Squad

(VOWS) and a Crimestoppers tip, Seventh District officers arrested Yasean Upton (DOB: 04-20-2001) today (May 30, 2018) for multiple violent offenses including attempted murder and aggravated battery by shooting.

Upton was identified as the perpetrator of an aggravated battery by shooting that occurred in the 14000 block of Emory Road on May 11, 2018, at approximately 1:17 a.m. Upton reportedly fired multiple gunshots through the victim’s residence, striking the victim on the right side of her neck.

As the investigation progressed, Upton was also identified as the perpetrator of an attempted murder incident that occurred in the 8000 block of Buffalo Road later the same night at approximately 2:21 a.m. Upton allegedly fired multiple gunshots through another victim’s vehicle window, striking a male victim in the head multiple times. As the victim attempted to seek help, Upton allegedly approached him a second time and struck him with the head of the handgun.

With the help of a Crimestoppers tip, Upton was apprehended by VOWS officers today at approximately 9:30 a.m. at a residence in the 7800 block of Bass Street. He was transported to Central Lockup and booked for attempted murder, aggravated battery by shooting, aggravated battery, aggravated assault and two counts of aggravated criminal damage to property.

In addition to the aforementioned charges, Upton was also booked with an armed robbery of a firearm in connection with an incident that occurred in the Third District on May 13, 2018.

NEW ORLEANS – The NOPD is seeking a male suspect and a female suspect in connection with an armed robbery incident that occurred in the 3400 block of Esplanade Avenue on April 27, 2018.

At about 4:30 a.m., the pictured female allegedly met the victim on Bourbon Street and led him to believe that she wanted to accompany him to his apartment. Upon arrival to the parking lot of the victim’s apartment complex in the 3400 block of Esplanade Avenue, the pictured male subject reportedly followed the victim and the pictured female on foot. The male subject then approached the victim from the rear and produced a firearm, demanding the victim’s property. The victim complied, and the male and female subjects then fled the location together on foot.

NEW ORLEANS – Officers in the Second District are searching for the pictured subject who has been identified as a person of interest in a sexual assault incident that occurred near the intersection of Dufossat and Laurel streets.

The pictured subject was last seen leaving F&M Patio Bar with the victim at or around 1 a.m. on Sunday, May 13, 2018. He is described as a middle aged white male, about 5’11 tall with gray hair. He was last seen wearing a light colored long sleeved shirt and red pants.

This individual is not wanted in connection with the sexual assault. However, detectives feel he may have valuable information regarding this incident.

NEW ORLEANS–The NOPD’s Traffic Division will conduct an upcoming sobriety checkpoint within Orleans Parish.

The checkpoint will be in operation from 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2018, through Friday, May 25, 2018, at 4 a.m.

During this time, motorists will experience minimal delays at the checkpoint and should have the proper documentation available if requested by officers (proof of vehicle insurance, driver’s license, etc.)

1 Suspect Arrested, Persons of Interest Sought in Aggravated

NEW ORLEANS – Detectives in the Eighth District have arrested Raymond Williams (DOB: 05/07/96) in connection with the aggravated battery by shooting incident that occurred on Saturday (May 19).

At about 2:15 a.m., Eighth District officers responded to the 800 block of Toulouse Street and discovered two victims, a male, and a female, suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment and were listed in stable condition.

Initial investigation revealed that two groups of subjects were reportedly engaged in a verbal altercation at a bar on Bourbon Street, but had relocated to the reported scene. As the groups were walking away from each other, an undetermined individual from one of the groups allegedly opened fire on the other group, which then reportedly retaliated.

Following the review of video footage from the Real Time Crime Center, Eighth District Detectives were able to identify Williams and apprehend him on Monday with assistance from Louisiana State Police.

He was arrested and booked with illegal possession of a firearm, discharge of a dangerous instrumentality during the commission of a violent crime and aggravated criminal damage to property.

Officers also believe the persons of interest pictured below may not be from the New Orleans Metro area. However, detectives feel they have valuable information regarding the investigation and are still wanted for questioning at this time.
